EVERYONE'S FAVORITE ROCK STAR -- Mercury Z (David Girard) and Becky the Bartender (Zabeth Chase) sing this ballad about their idol, the great 70's rock God Boy-O. (5.4 MB mp3)
A PROPOSAL -- Kitten Candi, as played by Angela Ford, tries her hardest to seduce Boy-O (played by me), but gets nowhere, because Boy-O is still depressed about his dead girlfriend. (4.9 MB mp3)
WE'VE GOT A PILL FOR THAT -- Why feel sadness, ambivalence, pain, or anything else for that matter? The pharmaceutical industry will cure you of all these human problems. (8.6 MB mp3)
IT'S WARM IN HERE -- A God Street Wine classic, rearranged for Freakshow. Believe it or not this song was always intended to be about aliens who rescue our hero from certain death by placing him into a virtual reality chamber. I just had to write the story to get to that point 8 years later. (4.2 MB mp3)
WHEN WE WERE VERY YOUNG -- in which the adults explain to the kids how they are being sent away, to the beat of a retro drum machine. (3.0 MB mp3)
MAGIC DAYS -- In which Henry wakes up in the middle of the night and has dreams and visions; this is the first hint of his emerging magic powers, brought on by his visit to his family's ancestral home. (6.0 MB mp3)
MIRACLE TIME -- In which the kids' parents send a telepathic distress call, since Bubsy Beals and Volcano Boy have imprisoned them at the top of Smoky Sulfur Mountain. (3.8 MB mp3)
SLIPSTREAMS/HENRY YOU'RE THE MAN -- The action packed climax of Disc Two. These two linked songs explain how the kids arrive to rescue their parents with the help of some nifty magic wands; then everyone has a big party and thanks Henry for his great efforts. (7.4 MB mp3)
Todd Pasternack "GOODBYE GIRL" --Todd's new band is called Marlow and the album is called "White-Out". Co-produced bu Todd, Ted, and I, the disc has a much more pop flavor than my typical stuff, but still with a jam band influence. (3.2 MB mp3)
Todd Pasternack "DO U WANNA FALL" On this seductive carefree doo-wop ballad I get to sing some luscious harmonies and a good time is had by all. (3.2 MB mp3)
Jason Crosby "TWO TIMES" --from Jason's debut CD "Out Of The Box". A cool tune with multiple time signatures, a great violin melody, and a scat section by Oteil. (4.8 MB mp3)
Jason Crosby "OUT OF THE BOX" --the album's title track, featuring a very funky Dave Diamond drum groove, killer Leo Nocentelli guitar work, and a nice horn arrangement by Jay. (4.4 MB mp3)
Kika "LIFE'S THE KING" --a beautiful track from Kika's eponymous album. The song that got me into Kika in the first place. (3.3 MB mp3)
South Catherine Street Jug Band "THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED" -- Another album title track, this one from a great Plattsburgh NY-based jam band. I mixed the whole album and got to play some guitar on a couple tunes including this one. (4.8 MB mp3)
Lo Faber & Jason Crosby "GRASSHOPPER" -- Just to include a little something different, this acoustic quartet track was from a cool project Jay and I started called "the Argyle Strategy". It is on the back burner for now but we hope to get back to it soon....let us know what you think. (5.1 MB mp3)
WHEN SHE GO -- another one cut in 1998 for the never-released "Hot Sweet And Juicy" album. This is a straight reggae track from the early days of God Street, written one night before a show at the old Continental Divide, at the corner of 3rd Ave and St Marks Place. (5.6 MB mp3)
YOU KNOW ME BEST -- this odd-timed ballad was to have been the closing track of the never-released "Hot Sweet & Juicy album. (3.9 MB mp3)
PEANUT BUTTER JAR -- a GSW cult classic. Written in 1990 when I lived in Jersey City with Tomo and Aaron, and Peanut Butter comprised about 60% of our daily nutrition. This performance comes from the Good To the Last Drop shows at the Wetlands, December 1999, with Oteil Burbridge sitting in. (11.0 MB mp3)
